Community Spotlight:

Connor’s Climb and #StickItToStigma

The last few years have been difficult to say the least, especially for our youth, making it more important than ever to talk about mental health. Connor’s Climb Foundation is committed to providing New Hampshire youth and the community with suicide prevention education to reduce the number of families who experience the profound, life altering loss after suicide.

“A STIGMA is defined as a “mark of disgrace” but there is nothing disgraceful about taking care of your mental health. One of our goals at Connor’s Climb Foundation is to help alleviate the stigma surrounding mental health by helping to host #StickItToStigma hockey games!”

In order to help spread the message that “It’s ok to not be ok,” the Connor’s Climb Foundation asked hockey teams across the state to create videos emphasizing that it's ok to talk about mental health. Part of normalizing mental health is incorporating it into your everyday life.

Connor’s Climb created #StickItToStigma events centered around sports since so many youth and community members are involved in sports in one capacity or another in their everyday life. Together, we can crush the stigma because mental health is health!

We hope to see you this Friday, January 28th at The Ice Den in Hooksett, NH as the SNHU Petey Penmen take on the Rivier Raiders!
